Safety
Meet somewhere public. Leave with a story.
Everything on yooh is built around meeting real people in real, public places. Here's what we do, and how to look after yourself.
Before you meet
- A quick selfie in the app before your first intro.
- Your selfie is only used to check it's really you. It's never shown to anyone you meet.
- We don't run criminal background checks. Verified only means a person on our team matched a selfie to the profile photo.
- Nothing goes ahead unless you both say yes. They never see a pass.
When you meet
- We only suggest public venues for meetups: coffee shops, pubs, parks, galleries.
- Tell a friend where you're going and when.
- Leave any time, for any reason. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
- yooh introduces people. You're responsible for how you meet them. See our Terms.
In the app, you're in control
- Report
- From a profile, plan or chat. We review reports within 24 hours. In danger? Call 000 (911 in the Philippines and the US) first.
- Block
- We won't suggest them again.
- Cancel
- Plans change. No hard feelings.
- Pause
- Need a break? Pause your profile.
Privacy
People see your first name, age, suburb, photo and bio, never your number or surname. Chat opens only after you've met and both chose to keep in touch.
